Course Overview
The Elementary First Aid (EFA) course is designed to provide seafarers with the essential knowledge and practical skills to perform effective first aid on board a vessel. This course covers the basic principles of first aid and life-saving techniques in the event of an accident or medical emergency at sea.
Approved under STCW Regulation VI/1 and Section A-VI/1-3 of the STCW Code (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers), this training forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers.
Participants will learn how to respond confidently to medical emergencies, apply immediate first aid measures, and assist in maintaining the health and safety of all personnel onboard.
